Vikas Krishan Yadav is a three-time Indian Olympian and one of India's leading amateur boxers of his generation. Born in Haryana, he won gold at the 2010 Asian Games in the Lightweight category, reached the Olympic quarter-finals at Rio 2016 in the 75 kg Middleweight division and won gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He also won medals at the Asian Games and World Championships and received the Arjuna Award.

Vikas Krishan Yadav was born on 10 February 1992 in Singhwa Khas, Hisar, Haryana. He developed through the Bhiwani boxing system and became one of India's prominent international amateur boxers. Olympedia lists the Bhiwani Boxing Club as his affiliation.

His international breakthrough came in 2010. He won a bronze medal at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and later captured gold at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou in the Lightweight division.

Vikas represented India at three Olympic Games: London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. At London 2012, he was involved in a controversial bout against American Errol Spence. Vikas was initially declared the winner, but the decision was later overturned after an AIBA review. He subsequently returned to boxing and moved up to the 75 kg category. At the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Vikas competed in the Middleweight division. He defeated Turkey's Önder Şipal in the Round of 16 before losing to Uzbekistan's Bektemir Melikuziev in the quarter-finals. His official Olympic placing was =5th.

Vikas continued to achieve major international success after Rio. He won bronze at the 2014 Asian Games, silver at the 2015 Asian Boxing Championships, and in 2018 he won gold at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast. He also won bronze at the 2018 Asian Games. These achievements made him the first Indian male boxer to win gold medals at both the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

Vikas was also awarded the Arjuna Award in 2012 for his contribution to Indian boxing.

His career is notable for his longevity, multiple Olympic appearances and major medals across Asian, Commonwealth and world-level competitions.
