Jitender Kumar is a former Indian flyweight boxer who represented India at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Born in Sisar, Haryana, he reached the Olympic quarter-finals in the 51 kg category and finished 5th overall. Before his Olympic appearance, he won a bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and earned international recognition through his performances at the Asian Championships.

At Beijing 2008, Jitender began his Olympic campaign against Turkey's Ulaş Furkan Memiş. He dominated the contest and advanced after leading 12–3 before the bout was stopped in the third round. In the round of 16, he defeated Uzbekistan's Tulashboy Doniyorov by 13–6, securing his place in the quarter-finals.

In the quarter-final, Jitender faced Russia's Georgy Balakshin in a closely contested bout. He lost the contest and finished 5th overall at the Beijing Olympics. Contemporary reports also noted that he entered the quarter-final after dealing with an injury to his jaw.

Before his Olympic appearance, Jitender had already established himself internationally. He won a bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in the 51 kg Flyweight category. He was also a two-time Asian Championship bronze medallist and later won a bronze medal at the 2008 World Cup.

Jitender's run at Beijing 2008 remains one of the notable performances in Indian Olympic boxing history, as he reached the last eight of the Olympic tournament and came within one victory of an Olympic medal.
